These lever backs have set rivets-that means they are ready to use and not recommend for soldering unless you remove the rivet and re-assemble after soldering. The hinges in lever backs should be lubricated with a tiny amount of mineral oil or similar lubricant in order to keep operating smoothly. This is especially important after cleaning lever backs in an ultrasonic or a steam cleaner.
